The "people" involved with this sort of thing, have probably consciously chosen this as their life's work and thus are indifferent to praise, scorn, blame, poverty, wealth--and most of what normal humans hold dear. Historically, adventures of this sort are also inextricably bound up with physical danger at some point. Choose carefully.
