Delivery to my PO Box, sometime around 02.16.2004. I know, I'm getting lazy scanning these in. Postmark was Mexico, and as you can see the USPS didn't like the fact that the return address was my own address. Ah well.

Delivery contents:

Outer envelope
Stamp closeup
A page with hebrew (scan corrupted, is coming)
A comic of some sort of eurpoean wormhole swallowing the earth.

It looks like the 'wormhole' comic has the origin in Switzerland. Wish I was up on my comics. CERN perhaps?

Freaks 160 mentions: "we doan gib a shit about what an de border or neah id. We gots
interests fa'thah south an east in dat shithole papist garbage dump ta de south. Id fit
wid stuff U bin gettin--but dat ain de de point a wat in U box. Id literal and META-PHOR
at de same time. "

When he says this after mentioning Mexico one is led to believe in that the Papist Garbage
Dump to the South is a reference to the mostly Catholic Mexico South of USA. However the
cartoon points possibly to Geneva. Geneva is 4 or 5 degrees East Rome however is further
South and 12 or 13 degrees East. So he might refer to Rome (well the Vatican really) as
the "papish garbage"

This would be a real pain for the webmaster but how far back do the references to physics go? It seems to me that they
stretch back to the 80s and I think that is befoe CERN. Not sure about that but I think CERN is more recent although it may have
been in the conceptual stage in the 80s. Whatever they are doing seems to be very long-range. Reminds me of the words from the
song, "You can spend all your time makin' love or all your love makin' time." I suppose that if someone is convinced it is worth
any price.

clue: I visited CERN a couple of years ago. 11,000 particle physicists work there! It was a multinational post WWII nuclear
research facility founded 1954. Fermilabs in California currently have the worlds most energetic accelerator since the LEP went
offline. CERN are rebuilding the LEP into the LHC which will become the most powerful and probably discover the Higges Bozon.

clue: I would like to know what the postmark stamp is. Can you describe the letters and markings on it or get a blow up?

I think he refers here to the mostly Catholic Mexico.

He may refer here litterally to DIGGING. Maybe there is mining operations of conservation operations in South East Mexico which
require shovel work?

From the 1930s onwards the Lacandon region was a Zapistia stronghold). Migration was influenced by the economic
opportunities opened up by the frontier region or anxious (in the case of the rapidly growing Protestant population)
to escape the religious persecution present in older indigenous communities (in areas like Los Altos) where Indian
principales or elders used their monopoly over costumbre, the lay apparatus of the Catholic Church and their close
ties to political bosses of the ruling PRI party, to expel Protestant converts.
 ...
Conversion to Protestantism, therefore, was frequently associated with an opening to oppositional politics while
the structure of new Protestant congregations in the selva also encouraged greater gender equality and involvement
of the base in decision-making.

Has anybody ever figured out the Hebrew? I got (from L-R/Top-Btm): ?GM/?GM/LQT/NYSDPW. Could this be a key?

hance - no. I have few contributors who can read hebrew, unfortunately.

The Hebrew appears to be from Daniel 5:25...

http://www.blueletterbible.org/tmp_dir/c/1092162563-6027.html#25

...the original "writing on the wall". Of course, Belshazzar needed his own interpreter for this inscription, and Daniel's
interpretation is given in the following verses. As far as it applies to the MDM, the interpretation probably just opens another
can of worms!! (And who wants a diet of worms? ;-) )

Further to the clue by mbs - the link is broken, Daniel 5:25 to 28 are here:

"And this [is] the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.

This [is] the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it.

TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting.

PERES; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians."

Indeed, but it ain't any god that's doing it.
